Rad Power has the largest direct-to-consumer installed base in the US, which means the most common failures are well documented: controller faults on older RadRunner and RadRover builds, brake pads wearing fast under cargo loads, and hub-motor connector corrosion on bikes stored outdoors. Displays and controllers are proprietary but widely available, so most electrical faults are economical to fix. Batteries out of warranty are the main judgment call. Controller faults are the signature Rad failure, especially on 2019-2022 RadRunner and RadRover builds. Symptoms are a dead bike with a good battery or assist that surges then quits. Replacement controllers are plentiful and the swap is routine.
