Stop charging if any of these are true
The pack is swollen, split, or has been in a crash. It is hot to the touch, smells sharp or sweet, or is making noise. Move it away from anything that can burn, leave it outside if you safely can, and do not charge it again. Book a technician rather than testing it further.
