Intermittent cutouts are usually a connection, not a dead motor. With the bike off, check the thick cable from frame to rear hub for damage and make sure its connector is fully seated. If cutouts happen mainly on hard acceleration, an aging battery sagging under load is a prime suspect. A tech can confirm with a load test in minutes.
